*Art* requires several technical abilities to impress and to communicate aspects of aesthetics. *Science* is a representative tool to understand what evokes impression. Both fields demand a great deal of creative skills in bridging the gap between an idea and accomplishment and therefore go together very well. Participating on a “Paint your PhD” competition allows researchers to have fun, communicating science :)
